Our cacao beans for Guatemala craft chocolate are sourced from the Association of Integrated Development Santa Maria Cahabón (ADIOESMAC), an association of farmers. These hardworking local farmers also plant plantains, bananas, coffee, and cardamom in their beautiful jungle environment. In addition, the farmers are actively practicing reforestation. Much of the cacao that is grown in areas formerly used for corn and bean production.
The pods holding the Cahabón cacao beans are relatively large compared to beans sourced from other geographic areas.
